About the Employer

We believe God has planted us at the corner of Northwest Highway and the Dallas Tollway in order to invite people into the unexpected joy of desperate dependence on Jesus.

We know that our brokenness, personally and corporately, are God’s workshop for life change. As we experience the grace of Jesus, we will be transformed by His love and be able to live differently with others. We recognize God is over all of us, so together we value:|

God’s truth over our opinion.
God’s people over our programs.
God’s healing over our hiding.
God’s mission over our comfort.

We live out these values by gathering together for WORSHIP, participating in GROUPS, and using our gifts to SERVE the Lord.

As a community, we expectantly anticipate that as we follow God’s leading, we will each see clear evidence of His work. Things will change. Growth will take place. Lives will be restored. To keep our focus on Jesus, we ask each other these core questions:

Who are you inviting into conversations about Jesus?
Where are you desperately dependent on Jesus?
When have you taken a risk because of Jesus?
How are you experiencing “unexpected joy” from Jesus?

OUR HISTORY
In 1951, fourteen families came together to form a church, with the desire to see their children raised up in the knowledge of the Scriptures. It was a time of depending on the Lord and on each other. It was a time of chartering a new way to do church — focused on the Bible.

An early partnership with Dallas Theological Seminary fostered that rooting. Professors from the seminary helped to fill the pulpit, taught Sunday school classes, and helped create an atmosphere of seriousness in the study of the Scriptures. Northwest still maintains a close tie to DTS.

OUR VISION
By 2026, we will be having thousands of surprisingly easy-to-start conversations about Jesus all over our city because we are convinced, where God has us is where Jesus is.

As part of God’s plan, each of us has been given a DIVINE PLATFORM where God wants to use us. Simply stated, our divine platform is where God has placed us to have conversations about Jesus in the unique way God has shaped us. Our personality, gifts, and individual stories, along with the places we live our lives, provide us with opportunities to share Jesus with our city. Because no two of us are alike, no two platforms are the same.

Our hope for Northwest as we live out our VISION and take risks for Jesus is that we experience God’s presence and grow our faith as we witness what God does in the lives of the people we reach through our conversations.
